TCH3 Nation & Beyond, it is that time once again to celebrate the life & times of a man who grew up in this very area, but became know all over the world. I speak of the one, the only Burton Leon Reynolds aka The Bandit aka an American Pop Culture Icon and All Around Bad Ass.
Burt played many roles in his film career, but in 1974 he was the original Paul Crewe in The Longest Yard. In the 2005 remake, Adam Sandler assumed that role, but Burt was back in the cast as Nate Scarborough. It is these films and these roles that we will honor in 2020. How, you may ask? By doing what Burt did best, have a damn good time.
Hare - Whore Shack
Start Location - Willoughby Commons Plaza - SW corner of Indian Street and Willoughby Blvd (3473-3485 SE Willoughby Blvd Stuart 34994)
Pre-lube - 6:00sht, Hare away - 7:00sht, Pack away - 7:10-7:15sht
Hash Cash - $2.00 (for the effort & BN & Orange food) BYOB for Pre-lube and Circle (NOTE - $3.00 surcharge for forgetting your own & drinking out of the hash cooler)
Theme - Burt Reynolds, The Longest Yard
What to wear - anything theme related is hash acceptable, including: moustaches, football jerseys, prison jumpsuits (white), FSU gear (Burt's Alma mater) or hash attire
What else to bring - whistle, flash light. Extra credit for movie related items such as toilet wine or the ability to hold up a cowboy hat without your hands
Who should be there - hashers of all varieties (local, visiting, returning), virgins, Burt fans, Sally Fields, Lonnie Anderson....
Where the fun begins - Most locals, and some visitors, know this spot as we have started there before. If you are not familiar, use the address included above and a GPS device to find the Willoughby Commons Plaza at the SW corner of Indian Street and Willoughby Blvd. The hashers will be camped out in the back corner of the far West side of the plaza, behind the only 2 story building.
